About the League

The London Banks Chess League is a team chess competition which facilitates the playing of chess among current and former bank employees. It is currently a ten-round Swiss-format competition involving teams of four players each.

Rounds are approximately once every two weeks at 6:30pm on Tuesday nights in the cafeteria on level B1 of the RBS offices at 1 Princes Street, near Bank Station. All equipment, including boards and clocks, is provided. All games are played under tournament conditions with a time control of 75 minutes each for the first 30 moves followed by a 20-minute quickplay finish. Results are submitted to the ECF for grading purposes.

New teams are welcome: the current league fee is £35 per annum per team inclusive of ECF grading fees. There are no other fees.
